I can just imagine you out there with a tilted head wondering “where is she going with this?”.  Well ladies, it’s simple.  Everything in our lives can be magickal, sensual and spiritual.  In fact everything is, unfortunately we have become so over run with mind clutter and stressed out thoughts that we no longer savour the cosmic connectiveness that can be found in our daily life activities… from walking, writing an email to yes, even baking.

When we start to step into the realm of feminine magick one of the foundational things we learn is how to become more awakened in each moment.

We realize that the natural world is directly connected to the cosmic realm thus, our answers we often seek in meditation can be found through the whispers of the wind or messages of the fallen leaves.

We realize that our physical body is not just a stationary temple for our Spirit, but a wondrous vehicle taking us like explorers through this realm to taste, touch and relish the various tangible aspects of the human experience.

We realize that our actions are not just mundane, nor repetitive, that even the drive we take to work changes every day from who we glimpse in the car next to us, the birds we see in the sky to the music caressing our ears from the radios, change is all around even amidst what appears to be stagnant.

We realize that everything we put our energy into can be a form of magick.  From turning our morning walk into a conscious format for moving meditation to even baking.

Feminine Magick transforms not only how we see the world, but how much power we put back into it through our actions.

Instead I like to see this weekend as an opportunity for self revitalizing (spring has sprung and it’s a stunning time to open to new blossoming of abundance.) I invite you to join me and try something simple and unique for yourself – see this weekend as your own refueling and rebirthing. See today as an opportunity to not worship a deity, bow down to a god/goddess or follow a set tradition… refocus your energy back into your own source and feed the energy you would traditionally send outwards back into your physical and spiritual forms.

Confused? Try this:

1) Take time to invest back into your source, recognizing the God/Goddess within (or the “Divine I”).

2) Ask yourself what would make you feel refreshed today? Would it be a quiet moment of meditation? Walking with intention? Lighting a candle for yourself? or maybe an Easter Egg hunt that represents your own abundance

3) Thank yourself for seeing your own worth and pulling energy inwards.

4) Set the conscious intention that going forward you will continue to recognize the altar within yourself and spend time connecting to your own luminescent Spirit self (instead of only kneeling to a pantheon of Gods or single entity outside of your own connection to the Cosmic).

Now I’m off to hunt down chocolate eggs hidden by (my amazing beloved) Armand; my personal way of allowing my inner child to play while celebrating the wealth of spring. Each egg for me will represent a new potential to be discovered (as well as the deliciousness of this moment and those yet to come!).

I found myself pondering how “displacement” of the physical from the home turf can cause mind blowing expansion of the heart.

Every place we visit new natural wonders surround us.
Every place we explore new cultures exist.
Every place we teach new Souls share.
Even when we are only an hour from home, new beautiful mysteries await.

Yet, every place holds one thing in common, it is all connected by the simple thread of sharing this earth, the air and the fire of the life essence.
Individuals beautifully different, have a similar longing for self expression and expansion.
The Souls although radiantly unique, still seek to sing loudly through the physical form.

The differences of each place plays a dynamic balancing act with the similarities and in this I find myself at home in each space allowing my own inner essence to dance freely, connecting with each new experience and yet to savor the solidness of feeling home within the earth and Spirit of the self.

Our travels have taken us across the planet from Europe, the Middle East to North America… yet it wasn’t until this most recent roadtrip that I truly experienced this awakening. 

Why?  I believe it was the driving… the watching of the scenery shifting in front of my eyes.  The time it took to get to each place allowing for almost a momentum filled meditation on each destination and the people who inhabit the cities and country homes we passed, offering my physical to be a witness to the unfolding of physical displacement and “replacement” and the effects on my energy body, thoughts and physical form. 

Amazing.

I have always heard the traditional phrase “home is where the heart is”, but now for me it rings much truer and deeper, home is always right here, right now in the center of your source.

Now if you are anything like me you have an innate love for shiny objects – I confess to being distracted by sparkles, glimmering lights and radiant shimmers -  inspiring a natural love for the realm of crystals.  However, what you may not realize, is that these stunning gifts from the earth are more than just luminescent tokens of the natural realm, they in fact hold an incredible amount of power.  From affecting deep healing within certain organs, cleansing clutter from our minds, balancing our energies to enhancing our abilities to manifest, crystals are a core component of the toolkit of a feminine life magician.

So how do we get started in working within The Realm of Crystal Magick? Let me begin by putting your analytical mind at ease… No you don’t need to memorize that giant reference dictionary found on the shelves of most metaphysical and spiritual bookstores.  Although understanding the basic crystals and how they can influence you is important, it is not crucial, in fact the core starting point is within you!

Selecting Your Crystals: Explore, Experience, Effect:

The first step to begin working with the realm of crystal magick? – Explore!  Picture yourself as an adventurer where crystal shops are akin to your recently discovered lands.  Pick a few stores that specialize in crystal sales (e.g. if you are in the Vancouver area – check out The Crystal Ark or Vikings, Dragons & Fairies), take a deep breath and enter in through the door as if you are stepping into a new realm.  Allow yourself to admire the various stones and don’t worry too much about their meaning… just yet.

The second step – Experience!  In this exciting new land of crystals, begin to play, pick up the stones that seem to draw you in.  Now remember, it’s not about how the crystals look, but how they feel.  In other words, allow your heart to lead you, you may notice that although a certain pink (rose) quartz is pleasing to your eyes, it is in fact a deep blue stone (lapis) that is calling to your heart.

The third step – Effect!  Select a few crystals that ignite your heart the most and place them together on the counter.  Most crystal stores are passionate about helping you select the perfect pieces for you with this in mind ask the clerk to help you:  close your eyes, take a deep breath and have her/him pass you each stone in turn.  As you hold the crystal breathe in deeply and notice the effect it has on  your system.  Just feel it… connect with it… you will know instantly if it is working with your unique energy.

A few things to ask yourself:

1) How does this stone make me feel?
2) Does it seem to affect my physical, my emotional, my mental or my spiritual body?  Remember it can indeed impact many aspects of your selves.
3) What does this crystal seem to do for me?  E.g. Does it feel like it enhances my spiritual knowing or balances out my stress levels?

Once you have gone through this process, you may then wish to discover the “technical” use for your chosen stone.  I use the word “technical” as although there are basic formulas for each crystal and how to use them, always remember that how a quartz works with your system may be very different from your neighbor.

For those who have fallen in love with a crystal, had it lovingly wrapped and are bringing it home a few tips:

1) Cleanse the stone to ensure the energy is clear.  A simple way to accomplish this is by bathing it in salt water, storing it in sea salts or allowing it to sit out under a full moon.
2) Once clear, sit with your stone and set an intention.  Relaxing into meditation, hold your crystal and repeat an affirmation for it sending your focus into it’s core.
3) Make the most of your stone.  Depending on your unique reasoning for using a crystal you can wear it, keep it next to your bed, in your office or use by holding or sitting next to you during your meditation.
4) Remember to clear your crystals on a regular basis, especially after using for any intense work.  E.g. if you have utilized Aventurine (a beautiful green stone) to help heal your Heart Chakra by working with it through meditation and visualizations (or ritual), then once you are done utilize the above technique (#2) to cleanse the stone before you work with it again.
5) Step into the cycle of giving and receiving.  Crystals are like magnets towards those who need them and often start feeling “empty” when we have completed working with them.  You may find that certain ones will remain yours for a lifetime, while others will feel powerful to you for a few months and once you’ve evolved past the place you are in the stone may feel “lifeless”, this is when it is time to perhaps give it to someone else that you know will benefit from its properties.

Finally a few (of the thousands of) basic crystals with serious mojo!

Lapis Lazuli: Incredible for the Throat & Third Eye Chakra, gorgeous blue Lapis is a powerful stone to help us in speaking our truth as well as connecting into the Spiritual realms.  If you are ready to step out into the world and share your voice or would like to build a deeper relationship with your spiritual self and guides, this is a great stone for you!

Quartz:  The most popular and basic of all crystals, clear Quartz is great for all of the Chakras as it is simply an amplifier, balancer and transmitter.  If you would like to boost your energy, enhance your manifestations or boost your healing abilities, Quartz is a great addition to your toolkit.

Malachite:  Working to stimulate your Heart & Throat Chakras, Malachite is a beautiful deep green powerful stone that can help us draw out past wounds and finally be free of them.  It is also recognized as crystal of abundance acting as a magnet for both potential and financial rewards.  If you are looking to heal your past and/or create a prosperous future Malachite is calling you!

The Realm of Crystal Magick is immense and holds a dynamic range of possibilities, the above is just to get you started!  I would love to how you use crystals, which are your favorites or any questions you may have!

But… in my mind couples/lovers/partners in a love filled, lust fueled healthy relationship should be creating their own special red hot passionate event on a regular basis.  Try every month… if not every week, savoring the Valentines that never ends.

These little romantic rendezvous’ or sexcapades don’t have to be elaborate the idea is that they are looked forward to.  Planned.  A special treat to say “thank you” “I so appreciate you” “I want you”…. to that delicious counterpart in your life.  It keeps the fire burning, the desire hot and the love alive.

It’s what can keep a relationship spirited and a lover (including yourself) feeling wanted.  (Plus it’s simply healthy for the mind, body and soul).

So… for those wanting to extend that special giddy feeling beyond Valentine’s, how about:

- Setting aside 1 date per month for the next 3.  These are your sizzling moments just waiting to be filled with your personal sensual self expression.

- Taking turns planning the evening (or day, or weekend!).  This will allow you to both express yourself through the giving as well as the receiving.

- Savoring the buildup.  Sounds obvious, but so many couples don’t set dates (other than vacations) that they look forward to.  Take extra time to get ready (remember your first dates together – that’s the energy I’m talking about!).   Relish the anticipation.

- Teasing each other.  The day of your spicy date get a little dirtier, a little more sensuous or provocative in your flirting.  Send a seductive text message from work, write a naughty email (even if you’re both home… ), express your excitement, your hunger, your passion… and don’t hold back.  Feed the fire; taste that luscious build up.

- Getting adventurous.  Dinner is always nice, but how about diving into your fantasies and pulling out a few new tantalizing treats to explore together (this is a license to get naughty!).  If you’ve talked about role playing, go out and find that fantasy fulfilling costume and surprise them.

Investing this time and passion back into your relationship will not only keep things sparkling, they will revitalize you – how you feel about yourself, look at life and the ability to continuously unfold new sexy experiences, creating  intoxicating new memories.

That wonderful body of imagination that usually overflows and feels as though it may drown me in a wealth of words and concepts has become more of a creek… gently flowing through my mind, every so often brushing my thoughts.

Sounds pleasant?  It’s not.

Even though a few months back you may have heard me cry out “Cirque du Soleil has nothing on the (colorful contortions) of my brain!”… and sigh dramatically wishing my thoughts could have a reprieve from the tidal wave of  my creative ocean, I now find myself parched, craving the rushing of stimulation to overtake my mind.  I miss the adrenaline of creative concepts that used to push the boundaries of my thoughts to new heights and even invade those “down moments” where I was taking time to unwind.

I realized something.  I’m a creative junkie.  I need it. I miss it.  I crave it.

I want to ride the waves of the creative ocean, and this time I’ve carved out a mental surf board to tackle the big ones and emerge glistening with new ideas, grinning from the pure bliss of my mind being expanded.

First, however I must perform a bit of mind magic and transform that creek back into a never ending body of water.  I will:

1) take time to detox my mind from clutter.  Enjoying a reprieve from mind litter:  TVs, magazines, things that only fill space and don’t inspire.

2) spend time reconnecting back into my creative source.  Going for a walk, dancing, drawing… anything that connects me back into myself and allows for creativity to flow inwards.

3) expand my creativity channel.  Meditating on the colors that currently feel creative to me, inhaling them up through my system and into my belly, exhaling out to allow them to expand.  Continuing this process until it feels that the “water of originality” is flowing once again.

4) express freely.  Giving myself permission to just create and flow no matter what comes out purely for the bliss of it.  Breathing creative beauty and passion into each action and not judging the results.

5) thank myself.  Appreciating myself for going through this process, I will respect my creative source and realize that no matter how big that ocean gets, it is a part of me and will never drown me.

If you too find yourself standing on a dried up river bed that used to flow with creative thoughts, try the above and be ready for a wonderful rushing of new inspirations to embrace your system.

Although today is a short stopover in the blog world, I wanted to share with you a video that brought me huge smiles and a load of laughter.  Now… when you watch it, remember: be willing to laugh at yourself!  If you spot a few phrases through out it that you’re very familiar with (due to having said them yourself a number of times…) enjoy it.

We may not be “new age girls”, and not quite “spiritualists”…  we may be a breed of Magick/Spiritual/Life Lovers that are hard to categorize since it’s more of a “way of being” for us… but, I can confess, there are times we sound quite similar to this.
